How to Use Text Fields in Your Agent

Imagine having at your disposal a travel planning tool that perfectly adapts to your desires and preferences. Let's create that now with the help of Tess AI.

In this tutorial, we will explain in more detail the Input Groups. This content is considered intermediate level, so it's essential that you have followed, at a minimum, the Agent Tutorial.

Learn to Use the Single Selection and Multiple Selection Fields in Your Templates

To start your journey in Tess AI, we will address two input groups and their applications in a template, which are:

Dropdown if you wish to limit the user's response to only one from a list of options, simply type each one, separating them by commas in the input description.

Multiple Choice: if you do not wish to limit the user's response, create a list of options by typing each one, separating them by commas in the input description. The user will be able to choose more than one option.

Now let's recap the steps to shape and bring your modeling ideas to life. We will create an agent using these input options to exemplify how it works. For this, always remember:

- Elaborate the idea;
- Develop a prompt;
- Test the prompt with the Conversation Copilot;
- Refine the prompt;
- Create the template.

We will follow in this tutorial from Step 5. If you need to study the previous steps, you can follow the step-by-step by clicking here.

For the initial setup: we will start by defining the type of AI (chat, image, text). The process is simple, and all you need to do is choose from the options. If you wish, you can switch between the AI models, filtering for a specific one. By default, the "All LLM" option will already be selected.

Next, we will move on to the more technical part of the creation process.

1. Creating the Agent
Idea: A travel planning agent that helps the user plan their destination according to their preferences. It should contain a User Input to enter the City and State they wish to visit, a "Dropdown" field to choose the type of trip, and a "Multiple Choice" field to select desired activities.
Prompt: “Assume the persona of an experienced tour guide and provide the best ways to explore the city according to the type of trip and the activities chosen by your client. At the end, add a note stating the importance of checking local times and rules before the trip.
City: **city**
Type of Trip: **type-of-trip**
Desired Activities: **activities**

Critique: Create a highlighted theme for each chosen activity and offer more than one activity option. Do not mention the pandemic. Deliver only what was requested in the best possible way"

2. User Inputs
Note that we specified three pieces of information that will need input groups, as mentioned in the prompt and the Idea, thus:

**city** will be a short text field, so we will use an Input field for the user to fill in only the city and state they wish to visit.

Regarding the **type of trip**, we want the user to select only 1 option, so the "Dropdown" field will be very useful.

- The options entered will be: Adventure, Cultural, Relaxing, Culinary, Historical, Romantic, and Business, separated by commas in the field, as shown in the image below.

Finally, assign some options that may be interesting for the user through the **activities** field, which, in this case, can be selected as more than one option. To define the options, we will use the "Multiple Choice" field.

- The options entered will be: Rest, Hiking, Museums, Countryside, Beaches, Gourmet Restaurants, Monuments, Business, Shopping, Bars and Nightclubs, Sports, separated by commas in the "Input description", as shown in the image below.

Keep in mind that if you do not use the inputs between asterisks within the Prompt, nothing that the user writes in the Input group will be used by the AI. Ensure that the input is exactly as created in the Inputs, including the **asterisks**, or click "+" to fill it automatically.

For this template, there will be no need for a step connecting with another AI, so we will continue only by inserting the information for the prompt and inputs.

3. Save
Once your agent is ready, just click on "Save" and "Preview" if you wish to test it. You can also find it in AI Studio as a draft.

My Agents

You can validate your prompt upon approval by testing, editing, and refining until the template has your personal touch.

If you want to publish it, just switch the visibility in AI Studio. In that case, the agent will be sent for approval.
